Kay Korper

Hello, my name is Kay. I am striving to make a positive contribution to society by challenging and empowering people to deliver products and services with the right quality.

I enjoy working on the boundaries between QA and agile process improvement to support people and organisations reach their quality goals in a sustainable and healthy way. Flexibility and collaboration are key for me to keep delivering the value where it is needed the most. From working with process improvement to performing tests to maintaining backend services. I am happy to support you across the (tech) stack.

Background

My professional journey started in 2006 in The Netherlands where I was a consultant for GetronicsPinkRoccade (later acquired by Capgemini) and got trained as a “Test Specialist” with strong influences from TMAP and ISTQB. The biggest project I contributed to was for the Dutch Tax Administration where they replaced their systems for managing benefits for childcare, healthcare and rent. Software development was done according to the Waterfall model. Though this may sound ancient, I am happy to have gotten a chance to experience this way of working and it still helps me today to appreciate the more agile ways of working.

In 2011 I moved to Sweden and continued to be a consultant for SQS where I helped Jeppesen (a Boeing company) with test coordination and testing of their Crew Pairing, Crew Rostering and Crew Tracking solutions.

A year later, I joined Spotify and remained there for 10+ years. At Spotify I learned to be a tester in an agile environment and have acted in different roles such as QA, QA Chapter Lead (managing a team of QA’s) and Agile Coach. I have also helped different teams with recruiting new talent by designing interview processes for QA positions and performing different types of interviews, such as QA interviews, case interviews and cultural interviews.
